Polariscopes are designed for the observation and measurement of stress patterns in transparent materials.

Our innovative range of Polariscopes are invaluable tools for the glass and plastics industries. They enable direct visual observation and analysis of stress patterns during the development cycle of a new product. Their applications can vary from miniature glass diodes to large injection molded plastic containers.

DigiPol Technologies offers a series of Polariscopes, ranging from entry-level grade to more advanced models:

All of our units are supported by a variety of accessories, including telescopes, monochromatic filters, immersion cells and video cameras.

AP-07 Computer Controlled Polariscope

The AP-07 Polariscope is a computer controlled device designed for automatic stress measurement in solid and hollow ax symmetric glass products (drinking glasses, bottles, neck tubes of CRT bulbs, lamps, optical fiber preforms, etc.). It permits also edge stress measurement in glass plates and automotive glazing, thickness stress measurement in strips cut out from glass plates, and measurement of stress at edge corners. Photoelastic measurements are completely automatic and take from 2 to 10 seconds. After that stress distribution in any section of the test object can be displayed on the screen. Diameter of the field of view is 40 mm. The measurement area can be easily displaced using the coordinate device with digital readout. Modern integrated photoelasticity algorithms are used for stress calculation from the measurement data. The Polariscope can also be used for stress measurement near the production line. The AP-07 Polariscope is supplied  complete with a laptop computer and software to control the measurements

Polariscope - Model 405A41

The Model 405A41 is equipped for a 100mm (4 Inch field of view)

Designed for convenient Qualitative analysis of stress fringes with a sensitive plate the system uses an economical incandescent light source.
The system can be equipped with an optional Measurement Head   407M41  this also permits quantitative stress analysis using the Senarmont Method

The Polariscope system uses a dial assembly for angular rotation reading, quarter wave plate and a two inch viewing field.

A filter is available for measurements at tint of passage wavelength.

An optional 407Q41, quarter wave retarder can convert the Polariscope into a Circular Polariscope for quantitative analysis using the Tardy Method.

Polariscope - Model 407A41

The MODEL 407A41 is equipped for a 200mm (8 inch) field of view.

Designed for convenient Qualitative analysis of stress fringes with a sensitive plate the system uses an economical light source.

The system can be equipped with an optional Measurement Head and also a Digital Camera to create a permanent record.

The optional 407M41/M51A measurement head also permits quantitative stress analysis using the Senarmont Method
